Jim morrison came from a rough childhood with very strict parents, which is most likely why he wanted to be different and move away, as soon as he graduated highschool he moved to california to enroll in poetry school, where most everyone didnt care for his writings or teachers, assuming that they simply didnt understand him, he put it to music and easily overcame the barrier of peoples judgements
